Dental RestorationReplacement and restoring of missing teeth or missing part of the tooth is the dental restoration. There are 2 types of Restoration: Direct & Indirect. In a single visit, instant filling of tooth cavity is done in Direct tooth restoration, whereas replacements of tooth which include crowns, onlays, or inlays are done in Indirect Restoration.

Your teeth have roots and inside your teeth, there are a number of blood or nerve is placed under the outer layer of enamel known as pulp or dental pulp. Pulp is situated inside a space known as pulp chamber which extends downwards to the roots. The roots with the pulp chamber is known as the root canal. When the infection or inflammation goes deep inside your teeth and the teeth are damaged. The damaged & infected tooth gives pain, sensitivity to hot/cold/ sweet food. The root canal treatment is to remove the dead pulp and infected area from inside a tooth and then a place is filled up with material and crown. This can prevent further infection of the tooth. Root canel treatment is also known as endodontics.

When the food particles that contain carbohydrates are left on the teeth which are converted into bacteria and it slowly grows, damages the enamel and infects the teeth. This causes dental plaque. After a long time, the dental plaque is converted to tartar. Dental plaque can be removed by regularly brushing but tartar can’t be removed. To prevent the teeth from the diseases, scaling and polishing is done.Firstly the scrap, stains on the teeth are removed by a dental process known as scaling. Its a procedure, in which specialized instruments are used to clean the stain without damaging the gums & teeth.Once scaling is done, Polishing of teeth is carried by your dentist. After stains is removed then to make the surface smooth. Polishing is done with specific instruments, it smooths the teeth and make more brighter and shiny.
